My Faith Story

I was saved at the age of 12, while attending church camp.  As many Christians, my growth was slow.  Throughout life I would have struggles, but thankfully I would never take my eyes off God.

In my mid-twenties I got married to my beautiful wife.  She had grown up all her life in church.  However, she really didn’t get close to the Lord until a few years before I met her.  She motivated me to seek and know the Lord better.  It was her that first introduced me to Bible Prophecy.  Nobody had ever spoken to me about it.  To discover that the Bible reveals the future, blew me away.   I later learned that almost twenty five percent of it was prophetic when it was written.  Those scriptures came true just as prophesied.  Who else could do this besides God?  Nobody!

Witnessing to friends at first was a challenge.  I didn’t have any basis for backing up the things I was sharing.  Blind Faith!  I had accepted the Lord, but never took the time to research God’s word.  My first experience with witnessing was with a non-Christian friend in the military.  He knew more of why he believed the way he did as a non-believer, than I did as a Christian.  I realized then I needed to know what I believed in and why.  My attitude was; Lord I’m going to study hard and either grow stronger in you and know what I believe or find out, that upon closer examination, I’m not impressed.  As all people who earnestly seek the truth of God, I found it.

Then came the time when I realized I was not going to stand in front of God and tell Him I didn’t have time to read His book.  No matter how I visualized trying to explain that to Him, it never went over well.

So I made it a point that I was going to buy a one year Bible and set a goal.  I chose the NIV version because it was the easiest reading for me to understand.  I knew I had to get through it before I had the chance to quit my goal.  I read on average 4 daily sections a day, so I would get through it in 3 months or close to it.  I did it and it was one of the most important things I’ve ever done.  I found out the Bible wasn’t just a bunch of verses full of good advice.  I found out it had a beginning.  It had the fall of man.  It had a redemptive plan allowing man to one day be with God again.  It had God sending his only Son to pay that penalty. And to wrap it up, it has Jesus coming back again, this time to rule and reign a thousand years on earth.

I found out that I didn’t have to have blind faith.  The Word of God explained who I was and who I was created to be.  Why man acts the way he does after the fall.  Also God’s plan and His love for us.

It inspired my life verse.  Matthew 7:7-8.  7″Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.”

Study the Word of God and he will reveal the truth.  He will be your rock and fortress.

My wife and I taught youth group and Bible Quiz before we had children.  My wife currently is teaching the children at church.  I realized that the Lord wanted me to get back into the ministry some way.  I was getting motivated to want to teach a Bible study.  My wife got the idea that since I have plenty of opinions to share why not blog.  She was right.  The Lord put on my heart that we live in a day and time where I can have a short Bible study every day and a study group reaching out over the world.

If I can help reach one person for the Lord, encourage someone else to become stronger in the Lord, then the blog, in my opinion, has been a success.  I pray to Jesus, my Lord and King, that I am able to share His word so this happens.

You also can help reach people for Christ by simply forwarding this website link to others.  If you send this to someone who sends it to someone else who accepts Jesus, you have been a part of someone’s salvation.  I also want to encourage you to save this website link to your favorites as once in awhile Jesus may put something on my heart that will help you with your day or your walk with God.

I encourage everyone to search your heart and allow Jesus to work through you in your ministry.  Each one of us needs to have the goal of standing in front of the Lord and having Him say, “Well done good and faithful servant.”

Stumbled on your site and was impressed. So right about the Bible being full of prophecy, How were Christians ever denied the encouragement to read the prophetic parts, and study them, i.e. Matt 24, Luke 21, Revelatons, etc.?
Many shepherds will stand before God to answer why they didn’t encourage their sheep to read the Bible on their own and breath it in. I myself was saved by the voice of God and learned scripture over 30 years by the Spirit of God, hardly having been involved with churches.
Thank God He will gather his people under his wings.
