Proverbs 28:14 – Blessed is the man who always fears the Lord,
but he who hardens his heart falls into trouble.
Hard hearts can’t be penetrated. They have to soften up.
What can soften them? Only the individual letting down his stubborn ways can soften their heart.
I’ve seen movies in which a character will say God hates me. Then the other character says hate Him back that’s what I do. Bad idea.
You don’t want to be an enemy of the Creator of yourself and the whole universe. Especially when you’re a fallen creature and God actually loved you so much He died for you. That is, if you’re not too stubborn and hard hearted to turn it down.
Fear the Lord! Love the Lord! He is God! He is Worthy!
If someone has a problem with God wanting to be worshipped and thinks He’s being a power monger, it’s probably because they have so much pride in wanting to be the God of their own life.
Be blessed, fear and love the Lord, and open your heart to God.

I went through a 3 year period where I was very angry. I didn’t stop going to church but I had built such a wall around myself that no one could penetrate it except God. I don’t know if my heart had hardened at that point but I know I was sullen and angry at life in general. God got through to me but it took a spiritual sledgehammer. It was hard going through that “breaking” time but it’s what was needed. Thanks, Patrick, for this blog! 🙂
