Are You Excited To See God?

02 Mar

Psalm 42:2 – 1 As the deer pants for streams of water,
so my soul pants for you, my God.
2 My soul thirsts for God, for the living God.
When can I go and meet with God?

Reading these verses remind me that I hope the rapture is in the next second.  Are you excited to be with the One who loves you and only wants heaven and happiness for you?  Or are you fixated on this world and all of your own accomplishments more.

I underlined “more”, because the Lord wants us to keep Him the center and work hard while we’re here, but I can promise you if you’re more excited about this place than His coming..?????

Put yourself in His shoes.  You’re coming back for your bride and your bride would rather you not show up right now.  You’re bride doesn’t even want to think about you showing up right now.

Just thinking about that and hearing yourself read it is kind of scary, isn’t it?  It kind of reminds of this parable.

Luke 14:15-24 –  15 When one of those at the table with him heard this, he said to Jesus, “Blessed is the one who will eat at the feast in the kingdom of God.”

16 Jesus replied: “A certain man was preparing a great banquet and invited many guests. 17 At the time of the banquet he sent his servant to tell those who had been invited, ‘Come, for everything is now ready.’

18 “But they all alike began to make excuses. The first said, ‘I have just bought a field, and I must go and see it. Please excuse me.’

19 “Another said, ‘I have just bought five yoke of oxen, and I’m on my way to try them out. Please excuse me.’

20 “Still another said, ‘I just got married, so I can’t come.’

21 “The servant came back and reported this to his master. Then the owner of the house became angry and ordered his servant, ‘Go out quickly into the streets and alleys of the town and bring in the poor, the crippled, the blind and the lame.’

22 “‘Sir,’ the servant said, ‘what you ordered has been done, but there is still room.’

23 “Then the master told his servant, ‘Go out to the roads and country lanes and compel them to come in, so that my house will be full. 24 I tell you, not one of those who were invited will get a taste of my banquet.’”

Don’t love the world, Love Your Lord!  His appearing is so close.  Is your heart ready?

Each Man’s Life Is But A Breath

27 Feb

Psalm 39:4-6-4 “Show me, O Lord, my life’s end
and the number of my days;
let me know how fleeting is my life.
5 You have made my days a mere handbreadth;
the span of my years is as nothing before you.
Each man’s life is but a breath. Selah
6 Man is a mere phantom as he goes to and fro:
He bustles about, but only in vain;
he heaps up wealth, not knowing who will get it.

If we believe the scriptures, all physical possessions pass away.  They are temporary.  We are warned not to put all our efforts into them.

However, how we love our Lord and how we treat others in the Lord’s name does.   Love, kindness, and spreading the good news so that others have the opportunity not to parish all matter.  These will last an eternity.  One way or another they impact and don’t pass away.

I never want to forget how short our life is to be able to serve.  It’s too easy to take the tact of why not put off today what you can do tomorrow.  I think most of us have lived like that at times.  I know I have too much over my lifetime.  If Jesus was coming in a week, how would you want to prepare?  That’s the importance of His imminent return.  We should live everyday like He is coming today.

Make Every Effort

22 Feb

2 Peter 1:3-11 – 3 His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. 4 Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature and escape the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.

5 For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; 6 and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; 7 and to godliness, brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness, love. 8 For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 But if anyone does not have them, he is nearsighted and blind, and has forgotten that he has been cleansed from his past sins.

10 Therefore, my brothers, be all the more eager to make your calling and election sure. For if you do these things, you will never fall, 11 and you will receive a rich welcome into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Such encouraging words to remind us to keep our eyes on the prize.  It’s a reminder that the Lord isn’t just looking for someone to accept His grace and then just continue living anyway they want.  We are to make every effort to be an ambassador for the Lord.  Live for Him.

No Mind Has Conceived….No Mind From Earth Has Ever…

18 Feb

1 Corinthians 2:9 –

9 However, as it is written:

“No eye has seen,
no ear has heard,
no mind has conceived
what God has prepared for those who love him”

I can think of some pretty cool things.  However, just like in my life, the Lord knows what I need more than I would choose.  He does a fabulous job.  Praise be to our wonderful Lord.

Which takes us to phase two.  Those verses up above mean….we can’t possibly imagine how great the Lord has made it for us in Heaven.  How AWESOME is that!

I’ve written on the story before and want to bring it up again.  One night back when I was in my late twenties (been awhile now :)) I just really wanted something to uplift my spirit from the Lord.  I didn’t ask for anything specific, just something encouraging.

The coolest thing happened.  I went to sleep and had a great dream.  You know what it was about?  Neither do I.  I wasn’t allowed to remember.  Am I freaking you out?

Here is what I was allowed to get from the dream.  I remember by my emotions that I was extremely in awe and excited.  I remember that I thought it was incredibly beautiful.  I remember coming out of the dream and away from what I was shown and saying, “Lord you have shown me more than I could ever have asked for!”

You know how I know it was from the Lord?  One I asked before I went to bed, which I never had before and still haven’t since.  Two, I wasn’t allowed to remember one of the neatest and incredible things that my mind enjoyed.

But I know this.  When I read the above scripture and add it to the wonderful gift that the Lord gave to me, I know that we cannot even conceive how great it will be.

Are you ready?  Are you living for Him?  There have been some recent signs in the stars with the meteor hitting in Russia and the asteroid flying close by.  Pretty wild that they happened on the same day.  There have been 15 earthquakes over 6.2 since January 30th.  Out of those, 7 were 6.8 or higher.  Also we have the Pope stepping down.  The Prophecy of the Popes isn’t biblical, but still pretty amazing.  According to it, this is the last Pope before Rome is destroyed.   Why is it so amazing?  If you’re Catholic, this isn’t the kind of prophecy that you’re excited about being fulfilled and yet it has been known for 400 years now.  Look into it.  It is interesting how it can fit in with things of Revelation.

I believe our King is coming soon.  Real soon.  God Bless.

Love Is……. Not Self-Seeking

14 Feb

1 Corinthians 13:4-7 – 4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Ephesians 5:22-33 – 22 Wives, submit to your husbands as to the Lord. 23 For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior. 24 Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything.

25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her 26 to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, 27 and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless. 28 In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. 29 After all, no one ever hated his own body, but he feeds and cares for it, just as Christ does the church— 30 for we are members of his body. 31 “For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.” 32 This is a profound mystery—but I am talking about Christ and the church. 33 However, each one of you also must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband.

Where do we get into trouble?  Caring about ourselves first.

God wants us to care about each other.  The devil gets a foothold by getting everyone to think of themselves first.

Blessed Is He Whose Sins Are Covered

10 Feb

Psalm 32:1-2 –1 Blessed is he
whose transgressions are forgiven,
whose sins are covered.
2 Blessed is the man
whose sin the Lord does not count against him
and in whose spirit is no deceit.

Everyone who has stopped breathing knows the importance of these words.

It’s important to reach those we can before that last breath.

I Will Test Them

07 Feb

Exodus 16:4-5 – 4 Then the Lord said to Moses, “I will rain down bread from heaven for you. The people are to go out each day and gather enough for that day. In this way I will test them and see whether they will follow my instructions. 5 On the sixth day they are to prepare what they bring in, and that is to be twice as much as they gather on the other days.”

Our lives are documented.  We have tests every day that don’t go unnoticed.  If we take that seriously then it will probably begin to show up in our routines.

If we talk about how important the Lord is and then put effort into many other things first, how important is the Lord to us?

Our hearts is where we put our efforts and time.  Do we have to go to worship services?  No.  We don’t have to do anything.  But it does tell the story still of what’s important to you.  Do you think it matters to God if you make it a point to make time in your schedule and worship Him?

What should be important to us?  Whatever is important to the Lord should be important to us.  Is loving and taking care of your family important to Him?  Yes.  Is loving others, especially in His name important to Him?  Yes.  Is being happy important to Him?  Yes.  Does he want you to have a good time and be happy?  Yes.  However, within the confines of what’s right and not wrong and sinful.

We have a hurting world around us.  America has never been so broken and on a one way ticket to bondage.  That’s what all this sinful freedom and worldly thinking is bringing on America.  Bondage.

God isn’t a party pooper.  He knows how we are made.  He knows what is destructive and what works.  We are in a world that tests are around us every day.  Yet those who test all the time for the betterment of their own selfish worldly goals, don’t want to think that there could be actual test of our lives.

We will all give an account for the good and bad we have accomplished.  Does that determine salvation?  Not at all.  That was the work of our loving Lord on the cross and our decision to make him our Lord.

He wants to reward you, not to have you get by smelling like smoke or by the skin of your teeth.  He wants you to succeed in your obedience to Him.  Run the race, for Him.  Too many are running it for themselves, because grace is all the farther they look.

Show Me Your Ways Oh Lord

01 Feb

Psalm 25:4-5 – 4 Show me your ways, O Lord,
teach me your paths;
5 guide me in your truth and teach me,
for you are God my Savior,
and my hope is in you all day long.

We really need to want this in our hearts.

If the Lord is the most important thing in our lives, we have to concentrate on Him and make Him our habit.  It’s a good habit.

Don’t Fear Those Who Can Kill Only The Body

29 Jan

Luke 12:5 – 5 But I will show you whom you should fear: Fear him who, after the killing of the body, has power to throw you into hell. Yes, I tell you, fear him.

It’s a reverent fear that we should have.  It’s a respect for the One who made us.

So many people say they are not motivated by fear.  That’s not really always true.  The problem is that many people sitting in a comfortable situation can state it that way, but if a lion came in your living room and it looked hungry, you going to be motivated by fear to move out of the room.

Would it be an intelligent move?  Absolutely!

Now with our Lord, He is also love.  So the reverence doesn’t lead to following a scary tyrant.  People look at it as a negative, but it isn’t that way when you get to know the Lord.  It’s another way to keep us on the path we need to be on.

If the truth be known, nothing should be scarier in existence than being an enemy of God.

When someone threatens to kill you on this earth, trust me it isn’t out of love.  So if you cave into that person, what are gaining except a temporary sparing of this earthly life?  However, if you know your Lord, when someone kills you, you’re present with Him.  Rather now or later, you’ll want to be with Him.

If you’re being killed because of your love and obedience to Him, it will be recognized by your Lord.  There is a martyr’s crown.

There are times when people chose the Lord and it has lead to an earthly death.  They didn’t fear the one who could kill the body more than the one who can kill the body and throw the soul into hell. There is coming a time in these last days that believer’s may have to choose the same on a more mass regular basis.

The people, who threaten you to believe their way or face death, don’t love you.  They don’t serve anyone who loves you.  The One who loves you, made you, died for you, and wants your allegiance and heart.  If you choose not to serve Him, you should fear.

Make Him your loving Lord, not your adverse enemy.

Just As Important Than An Eyewitness Account; Even More Sure

26 Jan

2 Peter 1:16-18- 16 We did not follow cleverly invented stories when we told you about the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but we were eyewitnesses of his majesty. 17 For he received honor and glory from God the Father when the voice came to him from the Majestic Glory, saying, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.” 18 We ourselves heard this voice that came from heaven when we were with him on the sacred mountain.

Peter is letting the reader know that he and the disciples saw Jesus in His glory the first time.  What does he follow that with in verse 19?

2 Peter 1:19 –19 And we have the word of the prophets made more certain, and you will do well to pay attention to it, as to a light shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts.

In the King James Version it says:

2 Peter 1:19 – 19 We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:   KJV

He says we have a more sure word of prophecy.  Prophecy is God’s foretelling of what’s to come.  We can read the Bible and count on it.  The scripture is God’s Word and only He can tell the future.

Peter, one who saw it all, is letting us know if we just pay attention to the prophecies as they keep happening, it should build our faith and we can be sure.

I must agree just in my experience of studying prophecy.  I am watching so much happening just as the Bible has predicted that I don’t have the faith not to believe that it is all coming to pass just as it is foretold.

We have a more sure word of prophecy.
