Do We Want To Be Credited In Righteousness With Our Lord?

11 Oct

Genesis 15:6 – Abram believed the Lord, and he credited it to him as righteousness.

Do we believe the Lord?

If we do then we should try to make our decisions that match His Word.

The freewill that we have been given, isn’t because however we think makes it right.  We have another election coming up and our personal preference will not be what’s held accountable.  There is a right and there is a wrong and it comes down to how God looks at it.  Be careful on how you vote, because even if you are not a participator in the changes society is trying to make, you will still be held accountable as a supporter.

It’s the old adage, choose your side.  Who will you stand with?  Yourself?  That will be a lonely spot.  It’s best if we choose to stand with the Lord.

Let’s believe in what He has to say in His Word.  It will be considered righteousness.  However to not obey His Word would be exactly the opposite.  Don’t straddle the fence and don’t be swayed by the world.  The Lord cares and wants you to believe.  It was the full faith in Abram (Abraham) in which God chose to have His line come down through him.

Sell out to God completely.  Allow Him to credit you with righteousness and do not lean on your own understanding.

When we make a decision, let’s consider FIRST how God would view it.

It’s For God To Handle Paybacks

09 Oct

2 Thessalonians 1:6 – 6 God is just: He will pay back trouble to those who trouble you

Our Lord is loving and He is just.  Why do we get in trouble when we want to pay people back?  Because we are usually concerned about ourselves instead of the Lord being the focus.

Romans 12:19 – 19 Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.  KJV

It’s natural to be upset when people treat us poorly.  However we are called to love in hopes that the calling of the Lord will reach others in those situations.  It is also a protection, because a spirit of hate or bitterness is not of the Lord and destroys our own lives.

Let’s leave it to the Lord as He asks and be obedient to Him.

Does Jesus Indicate Prophecy Is Important –Part 2

02 Oct

Yesterday we concentrated on some scriptures that Jesus had for the Pharisees and Sadducees back during His first coming.

Today let’s see what He says about the importance of looking for Him during His second coming.

Matthew 24:42-44 – 42 “Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come. 43 But understand this: If the owner of the house had known at what time of night the thief was coming, he would have kept watch and would not have let his house be broken into. 44 So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.

Immanency!  It says the Lord could come at an hour you do not expect Him.  That means from the time He took off into the clouds till He does really appear.  So much for looking for Him at the end of the seven year tribulation.  I would know exactly when He would come back.  Yet it is healthy for all of us to live like it’s today.  It should keep us focused.  It should keep our eye on the real prize, not some earthly one.

What else has He got to say on the subject?

Luke 12:35-40 – 35 “Be dressed ready for service and keep your lamps burning, 36 like men waiting for their master to return from a wedding banquet, so that when he comes and knocks they can immediately open the door for him. 37 It will be good for those servants whose master finds them watching when he comes. I tell you the truth, he will dress himself to serve, will have them recline at the table and will come and wait on them. 38 It will be good for those servants whose master finds them ready, even if he comes in the second or third watch of the night. 39 But understand this: If the owner of the house had known at what hour the thief was coming, he would not have let his house be broken into. 40 You also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.”

How can we keep watch?

By reading God’s Word and knowing the signs of His coming.  It is important to Jesus that people study God’s Word and are paying attention to the prophecies.  It will be good for those servants.

Some Psalm Encouragement

20 Sep

Psalm 66:16-20 –

16 Come and listen, all you who fear God;
let me tell you what he has done for me.
17 I cried out to him with my mouth;
his praise was on my tongue.
18 If I had cherished sin in my heart,
the Lord would not have listened;
19 but God has surely listened
and heard my voice in prayer.
20 Praise be to God,
who has not rejected my prayer
or withheld his love from me!

Cry out, pray, repent, and praise Him.  He is worthy and He is ready for you to approach Him!  He gives us everything.  In return He wants our hearts.

We Need To Remember We Are A New Creation

14 Sep

2 Corinthians 5:17 – 17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!

Probably a top fifty popular scripture and with good reason.  It reminds us that even though He accepts us where we are at when we ask Him in, a change still has been made.  We are new creation because of Him.  Our walk should be slow steady growth as we start our new life we have been given.

It doesn’t mean stagnation doesn’t creep in.  Almost all of us allow that and it’s usually taking one’s eye off the prize that does it.  We need to stay focused on the prize and what’s eternally important.  We we’re made to glorify God.  For some reason people think that if you’re doing that instead of glorifying yourself you can’t enjoy life at all.  That’s a lie that comes from the enemy the devil.  You can glorify God and really enjoy life.  It’s how we are supposed to act and the fall affected that.

Teach Me Your Decrees

13 Sep

Psalm 119:65-72  – 65 Do good to your servant
according to your word, O Lord.
66 Teach me knowledge and good judgment,
for I believe in your commands.
67 Before I was afflicted I went astray,
but now I obey your word.
68 You are good, and what you do is good;
    teach me your decrees.
69 Though the arrogant have smeared me with lies,
I keep your precepts with all my heart.
70 Their hearts are callous and unfeeling,
but I delight in your law.
71 It was good for me to be afflicted
so that I might learn your decrees.
72 The law from your mouth is more precious to me
than thousands of pieces of silver and gold.

Forgive me for slacking lately.  Been running many different ways.  Started teaching a Wednesday night Bible Prophecy class at my church.  You’ll see some of the content from time to time on here.

God is GOOD!  Allow Him to teach His decrees.  Be an open vessel to Him.

Psalm 49

06 Sep

Psalm 49:1-20 –
1Hear this, all you peoples; listen, all who live in this world,
both low and high, rich and poor alike:
My mouth will speak words of wisdom; the utterance from my heart will give understanding.
I will turn my ear to a proverb; with the harp I will expound my riddle:

Why should I fear when evil days come, when wicked deceivers surround me—
those who trust in their wealth and boast of their great riches?
No man can redeem the life of another or give to God a ransom for him—
the ransom for a life is costly, no payment is ever enough—
that he should live on forever and not see decay.

10 For all can see that wise men die; the foolish and the senseless alike perish
and leave their wealth to others.
11 Their tombs) will remain their houses forever, their dwellings for endless generations,
though they had named lands after themselves.

12 But man, despite his riches, does not endure; he is like the beasts that perish.

13 This is the fate of those who trust in themselves, and of their followers, who approve their sayings. Selah
14 Like sheep they are destined for the grave, and death will feed on them.  The upright will rule over them in the morning; their forms will decay in the grave, far from their princely mansions.
15 But God will redeem my life from the grave; he will surely take me to himself. Selah

16 Do not be overawed when a man grows rich, when the splendor of his house increases;
17 for he will take nothing with him when he dies, his splendor will not descend with him.
18 Though while he lived he counted himself blessed—and men praise you when you prosper—
19 he will join the generation of his fathers, who will never see the light of life.

20 A man who has riches without understanding is like the beasts that perish.

You read the New Testament and it’s the same theme.  It’s completely natural to want to chase after these things in our fallen state.  So what do we do?  You study the Word of God and meditate on it.  You go to prayer that you can live and be all the God has for us.

I don’t know if any of us will ever come close to our full potential, but it’s not hard to see now and throughout history those who attempted to and did a pretty good job of letting God work through them.  First rule to more success concerning all of us?  It’s about He, not me.

Lift Your Hands And Give It To God

03 Sep

Exodus 17:8-13- 8 The Amalekites came and attacked the Israelites at Rephidim. 9 Moses said to Joshua, “Choose some of our men and go out to fight the Amalekites. Tomorrow I will stand on top of the hill with the staff of God in my hands.”

10 So Joshua fought the Amalekites as Moses had ordered, and Moses, Aaron and Hur went to the top of the hill. 11 As long as Moses held up his hands, the Israelites were winning, but whenever he lowered his hands, the Amalekites were winning. 12 When Moses’ hands grew tired, they took a stone and put it under him and he sat on it. Aaron and Hur held his hands up—one on one side, one on the other—so that his hands remained steady till sunset. 13 So Joshua overcame the Amalekite army with the sword.

When Moses brought his hands down, the battle turned against them.  When he kept them up in acknowledgement that the Lord was the power, they we’re winning to the point of victory.

Your life is on a battlefield rather you know it or not.  That battle is for the control of man’s heart.  Raise your arms and let God win this battle for you.  Don’t be trying to doing it on your own or you will lose.

The raising of your arms is acknowledgment, submission, shows faith, in the one Whom is in charge.  He wants your heart.  Give to Him and have victory.

The People Closest To God Know Better Than To Let Others Worship Them

31 Aug

Acts 14:8-15 – In Lystra there sat a man crippled in his feet, who was lame from birth and had never walked. He listened to Paul as he was speaking. Paul looked directly at him, saw that he had faith to be healed 10 and called out, “Stand up on your feet!” At that, the man jumped up and began to walk.

11 When the crowd saw what Paul had done, they shouted in the Lycaonian language, “The gods have come down to us in human form!” 12 Barnabas they called Zeus, and Paul they called Hermes because he was the chief speaker. 13 The priest of Zeus, whose temple was just outside the city, brought bulls and wreaths to the city gates because he and the crowd wanted to offer sacrifices to them.

14 But when the apostles Barnabas and Paul heard of this, they tore their clothes and rushed out into the crowd, shouting: 15 “Men, why are you doing this? We too are only men, human like you. We are bringing you good news, telling you to turn from these worthless things to the living God, who made heaven and earth and sea and everything in them.

Here is another example:

Revelation 19:9-10- Then the angel said to me, “Write: ‘Blessed are those who are invited to the wedding supper of the Lamb!’” And he added, “These are the true words of God.”  10 At this I fell at his feet to worship him. But he said to me, “Do not do it! I am a fellow servant with you and with your brothers who hold to the testimony of Jesus. Worship God!  For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.”

Many times you see people clowning around bowing down and pretending to worship someone saying they are not worthy.  It’s nothing to clown around about.  The Lord takes very seriously this issue.  Here we don’t worship Him enough and then people will go out of their way to worship idols or others.

We do have a Jealous God.  He has given us all we will ever need.  He wants to be loved and worshipped by His creation that has a free will.  HE IS WORTHY!  Praise Him all that you can and when you can.

Forgive As The Lord Forgave You

30 Aug

Colossians 3:12-14 – 12 Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. 13 Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. 14 And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.

We need to draw our strength from Him.  Loving and forgiving those who have upset you doesn’t come naturally.  But it’s only by forgiveness (of God) that we have the opportunity for the free gift of salvation.  God is Love.  Loving and forgiving makes things better for all of us.
