David Was Into Meditating; On God’s Ways And Word

28 Nov

When the word “meditate”  is put in the search engine of the NIV 1984 version of the bible eighteen matches come up.  Sixteen of those are in the Psalms.

David a man after God’s own heart made it a practice to meditate His Word and His ways.  God knows a sincere heart.  How does He know it?  First because God knows everything.  We don’t trick God.

God knows when our heart is sincere, because we seek Him.  He knows if we are just seeking what we want to find, or if it is truly Him.  He even knows to the degree we are seeking.

Matthew 6:21- 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

Do you treasure your love and relationship with the Lord?  If you do that is where your heart is and He knows it even better than we do.

Psalm 1:1-2 –  1 Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, 2 but whose delight is in the law of the LORD, and who meditates on his law day and night.

Meditate.  There is a lot of meditating going on in this world and most of it isn’t towards our thought on the Lord.

Much of the meditating today is connecting with your inner self and the new age.  Where does connecting with yourself help you in your walk with the Lord?  I’ve been trying to write on a regular basis that we need to die to ourselves and let the Lord shine through us.

Psalm 119-98-100 – 98 Your commands are always with me and make me wiser than my enemies.  99 I have more insight than all my teachers, for I meditate on your statutes.  100 I have more understanding than the elders, for I obey your precepts.

Wisdom and understanding come from the Lord.  Connecting with the inner self only connects you stronger to a fallen, lost creature who needs the Lord.  It’s kind of like a cat chasing its tail, but worse.  While one is seeking their inner self, the enemy gets a stronger foothold.  The light comes from the Lord.  Only darkness is in someone who doesn’t seek God.  The deeper one meditates into his lost spirit the darker it gets.

We need to meditate on the Lord and His Word.  Let’s meditate on Him and make Him our treasure.

1 Thessalonians 4:13-18

21 Nov

1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 – 13 Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope. 14 For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him. 15 According to the Lord’s word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep. 16 For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God,
and the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. 18
Therefore encourage one another with these words.

Always looking to get a rapture verse on the screen.

It’s neat to know that we will be meeting our loved ones in  the air and other believers at the time of the rapture.

Here are a couple of neat thoughts.  We will hear that call on earth right before we are taken up?  The dead are going to rise first.  It’s the time all believers dead and just raptured from earth get their resurrected bodies.  Will we be face to face right next to those we have lost and longed to see?

Obviously my biggest joy will be to see the Lord.  These are interesting questions and only time will tell.  I happen to believe it won’t be all that long into the future.  We definitely need to keep our guard up and hearts receptive so He doesn’t come like a thief in the night to us.

Blood Covenant

20 Nov

Matthew 26:28- 28 This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.

He died for you.  He died for all of us.  There is a covenant.

The covenant is that we accept His death on the cross in the place of our own death.  We now need to
repent of our sins and worldly ways.  We need to make Him Lord.  That means die to our own selfish life without Him.

When your name goes into the Lamb’s Book of Life, we’re now in a covenant.  This is one covenant we
can’t afford to break or turn our backs on.  Seek Him.

Without The Blood There Is No Forgiveness

18 Nov

Hebrews 9:22 – 22 In fact, the law requires that nearly everything be cleansed with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.

It’s amazing how many churches don’t want to refer to the blood of Jesus.  The whole sacrifice procedure the Jews used to do and will do again was leading up to the ultimate sacrifice.  The animals were only obedience and temporary.  God’s blood is sufficient once and for all, forever.

No blood, no forgiveness of sins.  There is power in the blood of Jesus.

Be Joyful Always

16 Nov

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 – 16 Be joyful always; 17 pray continually; 18 give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

When life is joyful, it’s good.

I’ve always told people, if you think you’re happy or if you think you’re unhappy, you’re right.  That’s what you are.  Nobody can make you be one or the other, you choose.

Now I’m not oblivious to the obvious.  Our lives at times get turned upside down from close events near us.  Still how we choose to perceive them is up to us.  We must turn them over to the Lord and still be grateful for all that we have and all which He has done.

If you have Jesus as Lord, you should be happy.  You have what you need.  However, you still choose after that how you will view things.

God wants this for us.  It is His will that we give thanks, pray to him continually and that we be joyful always.

You’re a creature that has been made with a free will.  You don’t have to obey.  You don’t have to love God.  You don’t have to be happy.  However, you won’t have the last say and its God’s will that you do choose correctly and seek Him so you may live in eternity with Him.  For those who don’t, it’s a lake of fire according to His Word.

His Sheep Know His Voice

15 Nov

John 10:27 – 27 My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.

How do we know it’s His voice?

Anyone and I mean anyone can claim they have heard from God or Jesus.

So how do we know it’s Their voice?

If it matches up with the Word of God.  That’s it.  The Spirit doesn’t contradict Word, or you’re listening to the wrong spirit.

We Need Repentant Hearts

14 Nov

Romans 2:5-8 – 5 But because of your stubbornness and your unrepentant heart, you are storing up wrath against yourself for the day of God’s wrath, when his righteous judgment will be revealed. 6 God “will give to each person according to what he has done.” 7 To those who by persistence in doing good seek glory, honor and immortality, he will give eternal life. 8 But for those who are self-seeking and who reject the truth and follow evil, there will be wrath and anger.

So many warnings to the ones He loves.  We have to stay in the Bible because it is the Word of Life.  We naturally are sinners and when we slip further away from the Word of God we become more self-seeking and stubborn.

We will give an accounting.  That’s a positive for us to dwell on while we still have a chance to serve Him.  We can’t take our eye off the prize.  What would we be taking it off for?

All of us are one day older than we were yesterday.  We are all one day closer to seeing the Lord face to face.

The proof is in the pudding that nothing earthly material is making the trip later when we leave.

We’re going to give an accounting for what we have done.  We’re going to give an accounting for what we didn’t lift a finger to do.

Why are we ignoring that?

We all need to do our best while we still have time.  Let’s all shoot for the words, “Well done good and faithful servant!”

The Darkness Doesn’t Understand

13 Nov

John  1:5- 5 The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood it.

John 1:1-5 tells us much about our Lord Jesus.  He was with God in the beginning.  E-V-E-R-Y-T-H-I-N-G that has been made was made with Jesus involved.  Many mistakes doctrinally are made because they don’t realize that.  Then we get to our verse.

Jesus is the Light.  What does that mean?  How does a comic signify when someone gets an idea?  A light bulb is drawn in a bubble above his head.

If you are in a pitch black room, what do you see?  Nothing, you see nothing.

That is what life is like without Jesus.  Those who don’t have Him see nothing.  Those who have a little itty bit of the light, see a little itty bit.

Those who have a lot of the light have turned their lives over to Jesus.

He is the Light.  God is Wisdom.  You can have all the worldly intelligence in the world; literally a genius and you can still be in darkness with no understanding of what’s most important.

So how do we find the light?  By climbing out of our own selfish cave and towards the Truth and Creator.  The devil has been around a lot longer than all of us and he still doesn’t understand it.

You know all those people that say you just have to have blind faith and believe?  In this day and age that is incorrect.  You can search, seek and study daily.  You don’t have to have blind faith and just believe.  You can draw nearer to the Light.  However, time has shown that to do that, you have to leave your dark selfish cave.

Consider It Lost And Rubbish

10 Nov

Philippians 3:7-9 – 7 But whatever was to my profit I now consider loss for the sake of Christ. 8 What is more, I consider everything a loss compared to the surpassing greatness of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them rubbish, that I may gain Christ 9 and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ—the righteousness that comes from God and is by faith.

One continues to know the Lord more and more every day that he seeks.  I’ll vouch that every day I keep towards learning and trying to live for the Lord this scripture live 100 percent true.

Test it out if you haven’t.

Fact: Worldly wealth passes away.

Without God’s Grace or Light, We Have No Chance

09 Nov

Literally the Light is the Lord.  There is nothing but total darkness without God.

What I mean by that is no ONE could find God without out God’s help.  That’s why no matter how well someone may be doing in their walk; it’s not by their own power.  Not even a little.

Those individuals ARE being receptive and are opening up so they God may work through them.  We truly
can be nothing but grateful that God came back as the lantern and full light that we can now see spiritually.  Others that choose not to submit to the Lord are blinded by the fog and darkness.

Romans 3:10-12 – 10 As it is written:

“There is no one righteous, not even one;
11 there is no one who understands,
no one who seeks God.
12 All have turned away,
they have together become worthless;
there is no one who does good,
not even one.”

Do you remember before you sought God?  I do.

There was total blindness to what was truth.  I wasn’t lacking in making my own determinations and calling them truth.  However, I still remember being oblivious to God’s Word and how it pertained to everything that was going on around me.  To honestly look back, there was that veil, that fog, that…darkness.  The Light was available I just hadn’t turned towards it or sought it.

No man apart from Jesus is righteous, not one.  We are completely lost without Him.  We need to recognize that and walk with Him constantly and not wander out on our own.
